About OtterHonest

A review platform where every review is verified, businesses can't buy better rankings, and nobody gets to delete the truth.

Why we built this

Online reviews should be simple. A customer has an experience, they share it, and other people can read it before making a decision. That's it.

But the big review platforms turned it into a business model that works against everyone. Businesses pay to remove bad reviews or boost their rankings. Fake reviews flood the system. And if you stop paying, your profile tanks.

We built OtterHonest because we think reviews should be honest, not monetized. No business should be able to pay their way to a better reputation, and no reviewer should wonder if the ratings they're reading are real.

How verification works

Every review on OtterHonest goes through email verification. It's straightforward:

  1. You write a review and enter your email address.
  2. We send you a verification email with a unique link.
  3. You click the link to confirm you're a real person.
  4. Your review goes live on the company's profile.

If someone doesn't verify, the review never gets published. This keeps out bots, spam, and fake reviews from competitors. Your email is never shown publicly.

What makes us different

Every review is verified

No anonymous drive-by reviews. Every single review is confirmed through email verification before it appears on the platform. You know the person behind the review is real.

Reviews can't be deleted

Businesses can respond to reviews, but they can't remove them. That's the whole point. If a review is genuine, it stays. The only exception is if a review violates our content policy, like containing hate speech or personal threats.

No pay-to-play rankings

Rankings on OtterHonest are based on one thing: actual reviews from real people. There's no premium tier that bumps you up in search results, no way to outspend your competitors for visibility.

Free to use

Listing your business and collecting reviews is free. We don't believe that the basic right to manage your online reputation should come with a price tag.

Built in Denmark

OtterHonest is built and operated from Denmark, in the European Union. All data is stored on EU-based servers, and we're fully compliant with GDPR. We don't sell data, we don't run ads, and we don't use tracking cookies.
