The review only goes live once they click that link. This means every review you read comes from someone who confirmed their identity with a real email address. There are no anonymous reviews, no bot-generated ratings, and no way to submit feedback without verification. It's a small extra step for the reviewer, but it makes a big difference in the quality and trustworthiness of the reviews you're reading.
Do I need an account to leave a review?
No, you don't need to create an account. Just find the business you want to review, fill in your name, email, and your honest feedback, and submit. We'll send you a quick verification email to confirm it's really you. Once you click the link in that email, your review goes live. The whole process takes about two minutes. We keep it simple on purpose because we want as many real customers as possible to share their experiences without unnecessary friction.
Can businesses delete bad reviews?
No. Businesses on OtterHonest can't remove, hide, or suppress reviews. Once a review is verified and published, it stays visible to everyone. Businesses can respond to reviews publicly, which we encourage, but they can't make negative feedback disappear. This is a deliberate design choice. On many platforms, businesses can pay to manage their review visibility or dispute reviews until they're removed. We don't do that. Every verified review stays, and that's what makes the ratings on OtterHonest trustworthy.
How does OtterHonest verify reviews?
When you submit a review, we send a unique verification link to the email address you provided. Your review stays in a pending state until you click that link. Once confirmed, the review goes live on the business's profile. This process ensures that every published review comes from a real person with a working email address. It doesn't prove you were a customer of that specific business, but it does eliminate the most common forms of review fraud: bot-generated reviews, competitor spam, and throwaway accounts used by review farms.

Yes — for consumers it's entirely free, and for businesses the core is free forever. Reading, writing, and browsing reviews costs nothing and doesn't require an account. For businesses, your public profile, unlimited email-verified reviews, free responses, basic analytics, and a weekly AI summary are free forever — no credit card, no per-review charges, no paying just to reply to your own customers.
